Privacy policyHow Svee handles your data.
Last updated: May 18, 2026. This policy explains what Svee collects, why it is used, how it is shared, and the limits of the current privacy model across iOS, web, and the public site.
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Svee, operated by Benjamin Barley, handles information when you use the iOS app, the web app, and the public website. It applies to account holders, visitors, and people invited to shared notes or collaborative workspaces.
- For privacy questions, account data requests, or information requests, contact Svee at privacy@sveeapp.com.
- For product support, contact support@sveeapp.com.
- If you use Svee through Apple or another platform, that platform may process information under its own privacy terms.
Information you provide
Svee collects the information you choose to provide when you create an account, sign in, build notes, organize work, collaborate, or manage settings.
- Account information, such as email address, authentication method, Apple sign-in identifier, and account-management choices
- User content, such as notes, folders, tasks, goals, reflections, status updates, spend entries, categories, reminders, attachments if supported, and note links
- Collaboration information, such as shared note permissions, collaborators, invitations, and activity needed to keep shared work in sync
- Settings and preferences, such as accessibility options, theme choices, lock-on-this-device settings, notification preferences, and account deletion requests
Information collected automatically
When you use the app or website, some technical information may be collected automatically so the service can run, sync, troubleshoot, and protect accounts.
- Device, browser, app version, operating system, session, and approximate connection information
- Usage and diagnostic information, such as crash logs, performance data, error reports, security events, and sync activity
- Cookies or similar technologies on the web app, where needed for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and basic product reliability
- Analytics information only if analytics tooling is enabled; the final App Store privacy label and this policy should match the actual analytics tools in use
How we use your information
We use information to provide Svee, keep your account available across devices, support collaboration, improve reliability, and protect the service.
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account and signed-in sessions
- Sync notes, tasks, goals, and spend data between mobile and web
- Support sharing, collaborator permissions, account recovery, reminders, and service messages
- Debug crashes, improve performance, prevent abuse, detect security issues, and comply with legal obligations
- Communicate with you about product, security, support, account, or legal updates
Legal bases and consent
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, Svee relies on appropriate legal bases for processing information.
- Contract necessity, such as providing the app, syncing notes, and managing your account
- Legitimate interests, such as securing the service, preventing abuse, improving reliability, and understanding product performance
- Consent, where required for optional communications, certain cookies, notifications, or analytics
- Legal obligations, such as responding to valid legal requests or complying with applicable law
Sharing, collaborators, and service providers
Svee does not sell your note content. We share information only when needed to operate the service, when you direct us to share it, or when required by law.
- Collaborators can access shared content according to the permissions you grant
- Service providers may process information for hosting, database storage, authentication, Apple sign-in, email delivery, customer support, and infrastructure operations
- Current service providers include Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for web hosting, Apple for app distribution and Apple sign-in, Expo and React Native tooling for app infrastructure, and domain/email routing providers for Svee domain services
- We may disclose information if required by law, court order, legal process, safety concerns, security investigations, or to protect the rights of Svee, users, or the public
App Store privacy and tracking
The App Store privacy details for Svee should match this policy and the actual data collected by the app and any included SDKs.
- App Store privacy details are maintained to match the actual data collected by Svee and its included SDKs
- Svee should not track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising unless the app clearly discloses that practice and obtains any required permissions
- If tracking is not used, the App Store privacy label and this policy should say so accurately
Security and encryption limits
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
- Lock-on-this-device features hide selected notes behind account re-authentication or device biometrics on that device
- Lock-on-this-device is a convenience and privacy feature; it does not mean note contents are end-to-end encrypted on the server
- Svee uses HTTPS/TLS for network connections to supported services, but no security measure can guarantee absolute protection
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Svee, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the service, and maintain backups.
- You can delete notes, folders, tasks, goals, spend entries, categories, and other content inside the product where the feature is available
- You can request or use in-app account deletion, which is intended to remove account data and associated content from active systems
- Some data may remain temporarily in backups, logs, security records, support records, or legal records where deletion is not technically immediate or is required by law
- For deletion follow-up or privacy questions, contact privacy@sveeapp.com
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
- You may request access to personal information associated with your account
- You may request correction or deletion of personal information, subject to technical and legal limits
- You may request a copy or export of your data where required by applicable law
- You may opt out of certain optional communications or analytics where required
- We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law
California, EEA, UK, and international users
Svee may be available from different locations, and privacy rights can vary by region.
- California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information if those laws apply
- Svee does not intend to sell personal information; if sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising is introduced, the policy and app controls must be updated first
- EEA and UK users may have rights under GDPR or UK GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and complaint rights with a data protection authority
- Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Svee or its service providers operate
Children's privacy
Svee is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at privacy@sveeapp.com so we can review and delete it as appropriate
- Svee is intended for general personal productivity use and is not directed to children, schools, or classroom use
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Svee changes. When changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method.
- The Last updated date should reflect the latest published version
- Continued use of Svee after an update means the updated policy applies, where permitted by law
